Stellenbosch FC could clinch the league title this weekend, if they beat Moroka Swallows and Mamelodi Sundowns fail to collect maximum points against TS Galaxy.
Stellies will take a trip up to Gauteng this weekend, where they will face struggling Swallows. The Cape Winelands-side are in good form, having won five consecutive games, while scoring 13 goals and conceding just four. Swallows are coming to this match with their tails between the legs after suffering a 4-1 defeat to Chippa United.
With their faith no longer on their hands, Mamelodi Sundowns will visit Galaxy on Sunday with hope of taking the league to the last match-day. Sundowns will have to win regardless of the result on Saturday between Stellenbosch and Swallows. Downs collected seven points out of possible 15 points in their last five games.
Orlando Pirates are guaranteed a third-place finish or they could possibly even move into second if Sundowns fail to win one of their two remaining games. The Sea Robbers will face Cape Town City on Sunday.
Kaizer Chiefs might have fallen off the race, but they will look to avoid finishing outside top four. Amakhosi have 48 points with Cape Town City and SuperSport United also sitting on the same number points.
