'I've never seen him that emotional' - SuperSport United star Lakay on ex-Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt

SuperSport United defender Lyle Lakay has dedicated his match-winning performance against Royal AM to his coach Gavin Hunt.&nbsp;Hunt's father sadly passed away on Sunday, before the Tshwane outfit travelled to KwaZulu-Natal for the Thwihli Thwahla game.&nbsp; With many offering their condolences, the former Mamelodi Sundowns star also expressed sympathy to the former Kaizer Chiefs coach in the wake of the sad news.&nbsp;

GAVIN HUNT'S FATHER PASSED AWAY

"I would like to dedicate this award to the coach. I think everybody knows what happened, his father passed away," Lakay said after the match.&nbsp;"Personally, I started with him 15 years ago, and I've never seen him that emotional, and I'd like to dedicate this award to him."

WHAT LAKAY SAID

Despite playing under difficult circumstances, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/psl-wrap-amazulu-blow-away-opportunity-to-overtake-kaizer-chiefs-as-polokwane-city-dampen-cape-town-spurs-survival-hopes/blt9ba38d80f318a867" target="_blank">Hunt and his troops managed to secure the important win,</a> which the coach dedicated to his late father.&nbsp; It was Matsatsantsa's first win in the PSL in 2024 and Hunt will be hoping that the team embarks on a winning run in order to finish in the top four.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

SuperSport will host Sekhukhune United in a league match on Tuesday, May 7, in Tshwane. Hunt, who hails from Cape Town, will probably get a few days off to bury his father.
